October 31, 2015 - Foliage Flight around Essex Skypark

I spent most of the afternoon at the Skypark helping Bruce with his RV-3 restoration.  We were trying to get the fuel capacity read-out on his GRT Sport to work.  After hours of trial and error, it just wasn't happening.  Frustrated, I decided to take the RV-7 for a quick flight around the patch.

Although past peak, there is still much color at the Skypark.

I didn't have the Canon Digital Rebel I normally use, so I gave the iPhone camera a try.

Looking west at North Point State Park.  The Back River is to the right, with Essex Skypark on the other side.

Looking north.

Just to the north of North Point State Park is the Black Marsh Natural Area.  Always pretty from the air.

Turning towards Black Marsh for a closer look.

The iPhone camera takes surprisingly good pictures from the air.

Bay, marsh, forest, pond -- this place has it all.

Approaching the Back River.

A short hop across the Back River and I'm back overhead Essex Skypark.  Fun little flight.
